MindWorks Collaborative WELCOMES THREE New Board Members

Maryland based nonprofit elects new strategic business, education and talent leaders

Riverdale, MD (December 2021) – As we approach the end of a challenging but fruitful year, MindWorks Collaborative (MWC) is pleased to share that several new individuals will be joining the Board of Directors.

Their addition to the Board will help better position the organization as a critical leader in partnership with diverse special education professionals, children with disabilities, and their families. They will be vital in designing and implementing the new strategic plan for the coming years, expanding our organizational growth process, and shaping the new flow of programming and services.

It is the responsibility of MWC’s Board of Directors to counsel and guide its direction, monitor its operation, and raise awareness and support for MWC. The following leaders will join the Board in their duties in January 2022.

Gianna S. Bruno

Gianna’s career has centered around empowering, equipping, and connecting diverse leaders who transform systems to produce equitable outcomes for all. She leverages her expansive career in talent management and leadership development to ensure appropriate support for individuals throughout their learning journey as the Head of Student Success at Springboard.

Chanae’ Jones, MOTR/L

Chanae’ is the owner of and occupational therapist at Dreamcatchers Therapy & Wellness Services in Houston, Texas. She has a deep commitment to and wealth of experience and knowledge of culturally affirming occupational therapy practices. We have previously chatted about her work in our Diversity in Occupational Therapy spotlight series (check it out here).

Chanell P. Woods

As a former elementary school teacher, instructional coach, and parent, Chanell is committed to advancing educational practices that ensure equity and justice for every child – no matter their environment. Currently, she applies her interests and school-based experiences to her work as the District Success Manager for Khan Academy. There she helps schools and educators to effectively utilize the EdTech platform in ways that support the growth and development of diverse learners.

MWC is on a mission to improve educational outcomes for culturally and linguistically diverse students with disabilities by empowering systems to create diverse and collaborative school teams. We believe no educator, or student, should be left feeling isolated, unsupported, or like they do not belong. Each of our new board members will provide diverse views and expertise to further our collective work.

These members join continuing Board members: Jessica Davis, Kayla Humes, Tekiah Brabham, Monica Green, Sade Hinton-Morris, and Carissa Holsted. The term of office for the newly elected board members will commence on January 1, 2022. Be on the lookout for our new Board executive announcements!
